Please note: For technical and administrative reasons, returns of online orders cannot be processed in JJ Hat Center stores. Items purchased in-store may be exchanged or returned with receipt within 14 days in like-new condition for store credit only. No refunds on in-store purchases.
How do I request a refund?
Please include the provided returns form inside your parcel with the item you’re returning, or start a return online and follow the instructions. We’ll notify you as soon as your return is received and processed.
Hats & Headwear
How do I know my hat size?
Wrap a cloth tape measure around your head just above your eyebrows and the tops of your ears. For sizing and conversions, see our Size Chart.

Note that hats often relax back toward their original blocked shape over time. Perspiration, improper storage (temperature fluctuations), and exposure to sun or rain can affect fit. Store your hat in a cool, dry place away from humidity and direct heat, and be mindful of perspiration when wearing it.

If ongoing shrinkage is an issue, that can be normal. Consider sizing up next time and adding one or two strips of cork sizing. It’s usually better to go up a size and “size it in” than to force a smaller hat to fit.
Can I wear my hat in the rain?
Outside of a few true rain hats, most hats are water-repellent, not waterproof. Light drizzle or a little snow won’t ruin most felt hats, but heavy rain and thunderstorms aren’t ideal. Straw hats made from natural fibers should never be worn in the rain—they won’t hold their shape.

If you do get caught out, once indoors snap the brim up and hang the hat so the sides of the brim don’t touch anything (a hat/coat rack or the back of a chair works). Let it air-dry naturally away from heat. If a hat suffers weather damage, don’t discard it—bring it to us and we’ll see what we can do.
How do I take care of my hats?
The best way to store a hat is in a hat box away from heat sources. Purchases include a complimentary hat box. You may line the bottom with odorless cedar chips to help prevent moth damage to felt hats.

Try not to grab your hat at the pinches—put it on and take it off by holding both sides of the brim.
